Meaningful Play Conference
The production quality is high! The game play is quick and easy to learn. The strategy of the game proved to be fun. The core learning experience was well integrated into the game mechanics.
GEE PML Learning Awards
The judges were really impressed with the game. It is coherent, focused, well-oriented for the age range, and we especially liked the flexibility of tailoring the lesson by adding or removing cards.
Serious Play Conference
This is fun, like playing Bid Whist—and with groups, playing it gets really exciting as they HAVE to pay attention and it is just for a short time. I like it that the game sneaks up on you in interest. I actually had a person to buy several of the games so that I could engage a whole group of kids playing at the same time. You can’t just lean back and watch another person. You have to just do it and pay attention. Loved it.
Tech & Learning Awards
This is an old school response to number sense—analog games. I love this approach as it is an engaging game that is a reward for the math classroom. As a former teacher, I found existing games that could fit the needs of number sense, but this is specifically designed for that purpose—it’s not a repurposed game.
Mensa Mind Games Players and Judges:
“We had more fun playing this than we expected, and we’re fully grown adults. Surprisingly strategic!”
“Absolutely the fastest to play of anything I tried at Mind Games. I might be biased towards it because I crushed the other players in my group.”
“This is a good, fun way to practice simple equations. There was enough opportunity to turn over the game to keep it interesting – I went from far ahead to far behind and back again. Good instructions, compact and easy to take on a trip, and if you need a re-match, quick enough to play again.”
“Gameplay was dynamic and highly entertaining and felt balanced. Cute game, good to teach math. Simplistic but the twist of getting closest to 200 is a nice twist.”
“Nice quick game. Easy to understand and doesn’t feel like a math lesson! Could be a great classroom game as a quick numbers battler.”
